Gathering Place Brewing Tap Takeover

Gathering Place Brewing Company - like the city of Milwaukee it calls home - derives its name from the native Potawatomi word minwaking, meaning “gathering place by the waters.” Inspired by this land, GPBC is the newest addition to a long and storied tradition of brewers who shaped their city as they honed their craft. Their mission is to craft vibrant and unique beers that reflect the vibrant and unique community they call home.

Tap List for the eve:

Drye, Collaboration with Pollyanna Brewing – “We collaborated with our friends at Pollyanna to brew a beer style that is not easy to say but is ripe with the aroma of mandarin oranges, the spicy flavor of rye, and, well, dry. The result is a surprisingly refreshing beer that pairs well with the need, the need for speed (inside joke inserted).” Dry Hopped Dry Pale Lager with Rye, 6% ABV

Friendly Debate – “Ripe mango, tangerine, raspberry, and pine notes burst in this IPA, the color of liquid sunshine. Light bodied with a moderate bitterness that lingers a bit longer than winter daylight and finishes with a citrusy sweetness.” Blonde IPA, 5.5% ABV

Shades of Blanc #1 – “The first in Shades of Blanc, a series of beers made specifically to age in Sauv Blanc barrels, is a wonderfully fruity, tart golden ale dry hopped with German Callista and Saphir hops as well as Brewers Gold. Brilliant aromas of strawberry, white peach, and passion fruit remixed with soulful notes of red currant jam and orange marmalade. Sit back, put the headphones on, and enjoy.” Sauvignon Blanc Barrel-Aged Dry Hopped Golden Ale, 7.8% ABV

Arrivederci Roma – “Goodbye Rome. Welcome to the Cream City, Italian Pils! A new refreshing twist on the pilsner thanks to Italian brewer, Agostino Arioli at Birrofico Italiano. This soft, pillowy lager has pleasing aromas of spice and lemon zest complemented by a moderate bitterness and crackery maltiness. Salut!” Italian Pilsner, 5.2% ABV

2017 Barrel-Aged Wonderworker – “Aged 1 Year in Chardonnay Barrels: This biere de garde is slightly tart with notes of nectarine, berry jam, cherry, & burnt sugar. Deceptive and warming, vinuous with a hint of red wine sweetness.” Biere de Noel, 8.6% ABV

The Fur Trader – “The Fur Trader is the meeting point between Saison, Biere de Garde and Helles Bock, and is as unique and colorful as its namesake, Milwaukee founder Solomon Juneau. Biscuity and honey maltiness are bridged at odd angles by a moderate bitterness with peppery and citrus hop notes.” Blonde Biere de Garde, 7% ABV
