Modern Times Beer Tap Takeover

San Diego is widely known as "America's Finest City". With a reputation for pristine, white sand beaches, perfect weather, and some of the best craft beer in the world, it was big news to recently learn that Wisconsin was going to get some of this Southern Californian magic sent our way. Modern Times Brewery is an outstanding example of the utopian craft beer culture of San Diego. Their brewery is a collection of brewers, coffee roasters and culinary wizards. The Growler Gallery® Gurus are longtime fans of all things San Diego, so we also invited our friends Lumpia City Food Truck (originating in Alexa's hometown of San Diego) to set up shop for the night as well.

Tap List for the eve:

Ice - “The flavor: cold. The crushability: maximum. Ice was our very first pils, and it brings the noise. Hopped with Czech Saaz hops before, like, so many weeks of lagering, Ice packs the flavor of the mighty San Diego mountains into a compact, low-ABV package.” German Pils, 4.8% ABV

Fruitlands - “Fruitlands is tart, fruity, & frighteningly delicious. The sour, salty base beer lays down the funky refreshment, while a heavy dose of passion fruit and guava turns the whole thing into a wall-to-wall tropical fruit fiesta. It’s a marvelous mix of elements that collides with your mouth like a fruit-filled asteroid of flavor traveling at the supersonic speed of party.” Sour Gose, 4.8% ABV

Fortunate Islands - “Fortunate Islands combines the bangin' hop aroma of an über-tropical IPA with the crisp, deeply quenching drinkability of a killer pale ale.” Pale Ale, 5.0% ABV

Blazing World - “This beer is the stickiest of the icky. It's a luxuriously hoppy amber loaded up with intemperate quantities of Nelson, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops, which are some of the fruitiest, dankest hops sweet, sweet money can buy.” Dank Amber, 6.8% ABV

Orderville - “Orderville is an aggressive, fragrant IPA that blends the fruit-forward character of Mosaic hops with resinous stickiness from a mélange of dank hops. The resulting beer is immensely rad, with an unmistakable bangin’ aroma and a fully saturated hop flavor and finish.” Hazy IPA, 7.2% ABV
