Burgundy’s Little Brother: Cru Beaujolais (Great Reds for Thanksgiving Dinner!)

We have fallen in love with red wine from the southern region of Burgundy known as the Crus of Beaujolais. These unique, dry, medium-bodied reds offer a serious contrast to the popular perception of Beaujolais as a simple wine to be consumed immediately. The last decade has seen the world’s finest restaurants and sommeliers embrace Cru Beaujolais wines, frequently referring to them as some of the greatest red wine values in the world. There are ten villages that comprise the Crus of Beaujolais, and in this class will sample wine from eight of these villages including: Chiroubles, Moulin-a-Vent, Cote de Brouilly, Morgon, Regnie, Fleurie, and more. The wines from each of these villages are all unique in their own right, from the silky, red fruit-tinged wines of Regnie to the incredibly age-worthy wines of Moulin-a-Vent and Cote de Brouilly.
